Instructor: Judy Andrews and Louisa Hough
Service Description
Handbuilding is an enriching experience tailored for both beginners and intermediate students. In this class, we will introduce and refine techniques for crafting both functional and artistic forms in clay, utilizing your hands as the primary tools. Participants will engage in various forming methods, including slab building, coil construction, pinch pots, and the use of slump and hump molds, as well as templates. We will also delve into a range of embellishment and decoration techniques, such as carving, stamping, underglazing, decal application, and the creative use of found objects to imprint designs on clay. For those with more experience, the focus will shift towards enhancing and personalizing your techniques, discovering your unique style, and expanding your skill set.
